Blogs as weapons

It’s all a bit over the top (and likely to be ruled unconstitutional as well), but here is a link to proposed legislation regulating blogs.  This is a bill which seems unlikely to ever make it out of committee.

Still, one can fantasize.  Most of us have too much respect for free speech to ever consider supporting something like this, but it is amusing to consider what would happen, for example, if legislation regarding bloggers who post book reviews required that the bloggers have actually read the books they review.

Or would it...?

One would certainly think so -- and yet we see anecdotal evidence to the contrary.

I'd say more, but I'm trying to give up snarkiness for sefiras ha'omer.
